About Event
Have you always dreamed of writing a children's book? Now is your chance! In this two-part workshop we will work on creating a children's book, with the aim of actually publishing it. The aim of this book is to make the stories of the FFN Award winners accessible to a young audience. We will use these stories as inspiration and motivation, but we will not specifically focus on the people behind the stories. The book will be a collection of short stories, where each of you will write your own short story that fits our theme.
In the first workshop (11 November) we will delve deeper into all aspects involved in writing a children's book. We will focus on what writing style to use for children, and how to effectively apply this. Furthermore, we will look at how to set up a story and how to develop characters. Afterward, you'll have time to polish your story with feedback from your fellow writers.
In the second workshop (24 February), we'll make sure all the stories fit together nicely in the book, arrange them in order, and pick a title. Then, the book will go to the publisher, with Rascha and Charlotte overseeing the editing process.
