About Event

For this event, we will gather for a documentary afternoon with two short documentaries about hope for nature. So do you want to get hopeful for nature? Grab a friend and join us! We will make sure there is plenty of popcorn and drinks to go around (please do bring your own cup and bowl).

We will watch 2 short documentaries:

  1. Turtle Trackers
On Panama’s remote Pearl Islands, marine biologist Callie Veelenturf is using her research on endangered sea turtles to help the country enshrine the rights of nature into law.

  2. The Beautiful Undammed

A decade after the largest dam removal in history - on Washington State’s Elwha River- scientists are chronicling a story of ecological rebirth. Recovering salmon populations are transferring critical nutrients from the ocean into the forests, enriching the entire ecosystem.

We hope to see you there!
