Living Seas Volunteer Opportunities at CBMWC

 The Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre (CBMWC) is looking for dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join the Living Seas Volunteer Team for the 2018 field season (12th March – 5thNovember 2018). Volunteers will assist with the Living Seas research and community engagement work.

Each year they recruit dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to volunteer with us and gain valuable experience whilst helping us to collect data on the marine wildlife of Cardigan Bay, run our visitor centre and inspire visitors and the public through community engagement activities.

What You Will Gain

Joining the Living Seas volunteer team is a fantastic opportunity for you to carry out marine mammal research and become involved in environmental education and our awareness raising work.  You’ll learn about the marine species of Cardigan Bay and gain experience in field work, processing data, environmental education and community engagement.

The Volunteer Role

Living Seas Volunteers will conduct land and boat based surveys, data entry, man our visitor centre and assist with community engagement events. Discover a Day in the Life of a Living Seas Volunteer here. 

Volunteer positions are available from 12th March until 5th November 2018. You must be able to volunteer for an entire block and priority will be given to those who can volunteer for more than one block.

  • Block C  14th May – 9th July (8 weeks)
  • Block D  9th July – 3rd September (8 weeks)
  • Block E – 3rd September – 5th November (9 weeks)

They’re looking for dedicated volunteers with a passion for marine mammals, an interest in community engagement who are mature and proactive.
