The Future For Nature Academy is full of enthusiastic people with a passion for nature conservation. At the same time there are many conservationists and nature oriented organizations that could use some help in finding the right people. This webpage is here to link both worlds closer together and create a platform for volunteering opportunities and (part-time) jobs in conservation.

Marine Biologist – Antarctica


We are looking for a Marine Biologist to investigate competition, secondary space provision, predation and diet overlap in nearshore benthos around Ryder Bay habitats (adjacent to the Rothera Research station, West Antarctic Peninsula).
Based in Rothera, you will organising and implementing the research programme involving specimen collection, stereo light-microscopy, measurement of photosynthetic rates, preserving samples, quantification of feeding rates, analyse data and preparation of data for manuscript publication.

Scientific Assistant – Antarctica


The British Antarctic Survey (BAS), part of the Natural Environment Research Council, aims to undertake a world-class programme of scientific research, and to sustain for the UK an active and influential regional presence and a leadership role in Antarctic affairs.

Zoological Field Assistant – Antarctica


Zoological Field Assistants will be recruited to carry out fieldwork on seabirds and seals. Bird Island is small (7 km in length) and forms part of the South Georgia archipelago where it is buffeted by both prevailing westerlies and cold winds from Antarctica. It has a high annual rainfall and variable snow cover during winter. In summer tens of thousands of seals and hundreds of thousands of seabirds breed there. Up to 10 staff live in a modern research station with a satellite link to the outside world and comfortable accommodation.

Living Seas Volunteer Opportunities at CBMWC

Engagement and Outreach Officer – Youth for Wildlife Conservation

Youth for Wildlife Conservation (Y4WC) is a global organization that
facilitates an international network of early-career conservationists brought
together by our love for wildlife and our strong commitment to its protection
and conservation. We believe that youth (aged 18-30) worldwide play a major
role in wildlife conservation efforts by engaging their community in wildlife
conservation efforts and leading innovative conservation projects.

The Engagement and Outreach Officer will take on a leading role within the Communications Committee to ensure that all Y4WC resources are fully extended to the existing global online network. Working alongside other committees, the officer will lead initiatives to increase Y4WC’s reach and visibility, including to marginalized and indigenous youth. The officer will play a crucial role in the maintenance of Y4WC online platforms (website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.), ensuring they are coherent and up-to-date.

Volunteering & Internships at Sealcentre Pieterburen

The Sealcentre is looking for some hardworking volunteers/interns for the Seal Care department in the upcoming Winter period, from the beginning of January till aprox the end of March 2018. They are looking for those persons with a desire to assist our experienced seal nurses with the day to day care and rehabilitation of the sick/injured seals patients they could have.

Coral Reef Restoration
