Nature Talks – Buying land to Conserve Nature

February 26, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Moving between patches of habitat is crucial to maintain healthy populations in an ecosystem.  But when the habitat becomes too fragmented, many species may become endangered.

That is why the strategic acquisition of small patches of land can be an extremely useful tool to protect nature. By purchasing even a small area of land, we can create corridors between formerly isolated patches of habitat and re-establish their connectivity.

Marc Hoogeslag, is the coordinator of IUCN NL’s land acquisition program and is joining FFNA Utrecht  for an informal chat to discuss how land acquisition can and has been used as a tool for Conservation.
