Workshops Ecology
April 11, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm
PLEASE NOTE: The main language of this event will be Dutch!
Do you wonder what it means for The Netherlands that the wolf is returning? Do you have a true interest in sustainability and for example the recovery of peatlands? Or do you happen to notice all too well the dramatic decline in the number of insects around us? Then stop what you are doing and subscribe for this event!
The Future For Nature Academy organizes a unique workshop with four different specialists from The Netherlands. Students will get a chance to discuss things with them and with each other. First of all, Martijn Visser, the youth representative in Sustainable Development, will tell a thing or two about his work. He supports the opinion of the younger generation(s) in politics and business, for example during international conferences of the United Nations. Furthermore, three experts will be present during this workshop and will support guidance on several cases related to the topics of nature conservation, climate awareness, landscape industry and fauna. Afterwards, the separate groups will provide their opinions and results that came out of the discussion groups. (This is not only a sociable happening, it is also an excellent opportunity to network!)
Case A: The return of the wolf in the Netherlands (by Elze Polman from ‘Wolven in Nederland’)
Case B: The recovery of peatlands (by John van Duursen from ‘Commonlands’)
Case C: The drastic decline of (flying) insects (by Eelke Jongejans from the ‘IWWR, Radboud University’)
Do you feel excited? Do you want to take part in discussion groups on one of these three cases? Or are you simply interested in discussing sustainability and the environment with other adolescents? Then subscribe for this workshop!

When you subscribe, please provide your preference for the three cases (for example, your first preference could be Case B, your second Case A, etc.). Of course we will try to place as many participants with their first preference. Even if you do not get a chance to discuss within the group of your first choice, you will learn about all three cases throughout the evening. And, of course, you could stay during the drinks afterwards so you can exchange and network with each other and the experts!
