How far can nature conservation go? Are ‘our’ decisions always ‘right’? A discussion on the social side of conservation.
On the 27th of May, Future for Nature Academy organizes an event on the decolonization of nature conservation. We will do this together with Gerard Verschoor (WUR-SDC), Bas Verschuuren (WUR-FNP/IUCN), Joost van Montfort (WWF) and Thandie Chikomo (Amplifying Voices for Just Climate Action). Join us in this debate!
As we are dealing with a global biodiversity decline, action is necessary. A broad range of strategies for the conservation of biodiversity exists. At times, social sciences have expressed concerns regarding the implementation of conservation. During this event, we will be talking about the notion of decolonization and reflect on its relevance for conservation.
The event takes place online from 8-10pm – all are welcome to join!
