Field Assistant – Negros Oriental, Philippines

TFI will initially be reintroducing the Visayan Warty Pig and Visayan Spotted Deer between April and May 2020 but looking for field assistants to start late February/early March for training and assistance in release preparation. We want field assistants to help in all aspects of the reintroduction program from camera trapping, VHF and GPS telemetry, behaviour observations, and community outreach and education

Protected Species Campaign Intern, Washington DC

The Protected Species Campaign Intern works closely with the science, policy, communications, and grassroots teams in support of Oceana’s Responsible Fishing (RF) campaigns to save the North Atlantic right whale, defend the Magnuson-Stevens Act, and ban the sale of shark fins in the U.S. The Intern is responsible for coordinating project and event logistics, tracking congressional actions, maintaining a record of campaign progress toward goals, performing data analysis as needed, and conducting outreach to build support for campaign objectives. The Intern also performs research and drafts communications materials, including internal memos, fact sheets, and sign-on letters. The Protected Species Campaign Intern reports directly to the RF Ocean Advocate and assists in general campaign planning.

FLORON onderzoekt en beschermt de wilde flora van Nederland. In het hele land zijn vrijwilligersgroepen actief om planten in kaart te brengen door middel van het inventariseren van kilometerhokken en het speuren naar zeldzame plantensoorten. Op het landelijk bureau in Nijmegen werken tien medewerkers. FLORON biedt jaarlijks enkele stageplekken aan bachelor- en masterstudenten.
